Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Squiggler. By using the site or buying anything on it, you agree to them.

What Squiggler is

Squiggler generates synthetic electrocardiograms for teaching. Every tracing is computed from a description you write; none of them comes from a patient, and none of them is a recording of anything.

The tracings are for education only. They must not be used for clinical diagnosis, for patient care, or as evidence of anything about a real person. Nothing here is a medical device and nothing here is medical advice.

Accounts

You can use most of Squiggler without an account. An account lets you save tracings, build collections, and buy credits or a subscription.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

Credits

A credit buys one export without the watermark. Tuning a tracing, previewing it and sharing a link cost nothing — a credit is spent when you download a file, and downloading the same file again is free.

Credits do not expire. New accounts are given a small number of credits to start with; those are the same credits anyone else buys.

Subscriptions

Pro is billed monthly or yearly, in advance, and renews automatically until you cancel. The price you pay is the price shown when you subscribe; if it changes, the change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you first.

You can cancel at any time from the billing page. See the refunds and cancellation policy for what happens when you do.

What you may do with the tracings

Tracings you export are yours to use in your own teaching material, including material you are paid to deliver: lectures, courses, question banks, exams and printed handouts.

You may not resell the tracings as a product in their own right, and you may not use Squiggler to build a competing generator. If you want to redistribute tracings at scale, or embed them in software you sell, ask us — that is what the API tier is for.

What we ask of you

Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service, and do not use it to produce material that presents synthetic tracings as real patient recordings.

We may suspend an account that does these things. If we do, we will refund any unspent credits.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Squiggler available but do not guarantee it. The service is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms. A material change will be announced on the site before it takes effect, and it never applies retroactively to something you have already bought.

These terms are governed by Swedish law. As a consumer you may also bring a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or the EU online dispute resolution platform.
